Developing theories

One of the very many delights of working with children is listening to their developing theories ....
Teddy ....  I brought two bananas  -  a clean banana and a dirty banana.

Elena ... I don't have to clean my teeth.
Me ... Why not?
Elena ... I looked in the mirror and they weren't dirty.
