The story telling begins

I was drawn to the playhouse by the group huddled in the corner.  It transpired that Ila, Travis, Mitch and Yaseen were telling stories.  We put emphasis on oral story telling at Botany Downs kindergarten because being able to use words effectively underpins all literacy.  This is Ila's story.  Below are the stories by the other children.  I had to wonder how many amazing stories happen that we just don't hear.  We hope you enjoy these as much as we did.

Baking individual scones

Baking individual scones on PhotoPeach 2 tablespoons flour, one cube of butter, some grated cheese and mild to mix.

The injury

It is always a worry when you discover this on a child's head.  William seemed unconcerned and he said that it didn't hurt.  That was good.  The bleeding had obviously stopped.  The next move was to get another teacher to have a look for a second opinion and give it a clean.  Teacher Chloe came over to have a look and on closer inspections she said, "how come its sticky?"  We discovered that it was in fact strawberry jam!  The children had made individual scones on the morning and had buttered them and out the jam on by themselves.  It seems that William had just added a little jam to his head.  He had us fooled!  We decided not to clean it up and see what his Mum and Nana had to say about it … they were fooled too.

A wee session with a teacher from Taylors Academy of Dance. Thank you
