Street art for Logan

Street art for Logan 2013 on PhotoPeach How can it be three years since Logan left us so suddenly? It seems like so long ago and yet it seems like yesterday. Logan, your passing caused us so much pain, and yet thinking about you causes our hearts to glow and our laughter to emerge. You were indeed an exceptional boy. You have been missed every day of those three years. As one tribute in the street art noted ... Logan, you are the footprint in our hearts. Love always from Team Logan at Botany Downs Kindergarten.

Developing theories

One of the very many delights of working with children is listening to their developing theories ....
Teddy ....  I brought two bananas  -  a clean banana and a dirty banana.

Elena ... I don't have to clean my teeth.
Me ... Why not?
Elena ... I looked in the mirror and they weren't dirty.

The footprints

There were squeals as Gianni steped in the water and made water footprints on the concrete.  Her delight was infectious ... and very soon lots of children were making water footprints.

A busy project

What a busy project on a beautiful summer's day as Gianni, Matthew and Veronique worked to collect stones from the garden and place them in the water trough.

Fire drill evacuation to the sandpit for roll call

Skyping Grace at home

When Grace was at home with the chicken pox we just had to Skype her to see how she was.

Millie on a mission

Millie on a mission on PhotoPeach Millie was so excited to see a picture of a blue fairy on the cover of a book. She sat down and drew a replica of the blue fairy. Rushing to show me she said, "I want to be one of those." We wondered how that could happen. "I could just make it," she replied. We went in search of some blue material. That was not to be found, but Millie spied some white satin material that she thought would be just perfect. Then she spied a little bit of blue tuile, just perfect for the wings, she thought. WE measured, cut and sewed ... and a fairy was born. Millie was then very clear that she needed to put stickers on it to make it look beautiful. Great planning and bring the plan to fruition Millie.

Friendship builds a feeling of belonging

It was a delight to see Isabella take Veronique under her wing on Veronique's first day at kindergarten, making sure that Veronique's first day was one to remember.
