Sharing knowledge about Anzac Day 2010
Having just celebrated Anzac Day (April 25) we engaged in discussion with the children to discover their understandings related to the day. We found that lots of children were aware of the dawn parades held and that some had even attended. Benjamin told us that his grandfather had been in the war and that he had been shot in the leg, "and he had to spend his whole life with one leg!"

We're amazed at how much information Benjamin took in from one 'briefing' before the ANZAC dawn service! Its true that kids are sponges ; )
ReplyDeleteEven I have heard about the man that got shot and had to hop! I hope that perhaps he may have had a prosthetic leg at least!
ReplyDeletePoor Granddad!
