Poi Girls

Caitlin and Holly were doing the best dancing with the pois today, complete with dressups and everything. It was a glorious sight to behold. Jemma and Natasha joined in afterwards and asked me to put the video on the blog. You know you're in the 21st centrury when you get a request like that from 4 year olds!! I also got an inkling that the girls had seen Nisha and Kaide's dancing with Pois in another post on our blog.
The concentration on their faces is just priceless and the different poi styles is so interesting to observe!

Puppet Dancing

There has been a fair amount of interest in Marionette puppets since Helen brought in her Dragon puppet from Singapore to share with the children for Chinese New Year. Since then the children have spotted our string puppets hanging above the mat and have asked to use them. Over the past few days the children have been having a go at getting the puppet to walk and dance. Kerry remembered seeing lots of marionettes in Prague while she was travelling and decided to share a short video clip of a puppet that she saw dancing. We also looked up a few other video clips on youtube including the Puppet show of "The Lonely Goatherd" from The Sound of Music. Plenty of puppet dancing was happening all around!

Disco Fever

On Friday 15 August we had our Kindergarten disco. It was a terrible rainy night but many of our children and their families braved the weather and boogied the night away. We did the Limbo, the Macerena, chicken dance and danced to favourite songs like Bob the Builder. It was a really fun night. Plenty of the parents danced too which was so exciting to see! Thank you to our committee for putting everything together, everyone who helped on the day, and to everyone who came along and made our disco a great success.
